MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee track & field teams will be in action across three meets this weekend. The three competitions will be the Green & White Invite, the Gibson Invitational, and the Phil Esten Challenge.
 
The Green & White Invite will be a one-day event on Thursday at Wisconsin Lutheran College's Raabe Stadium, with both track & field events beginning at 10:00 a.m. (CT).
 
The Gibson Invitational will be a three-day event from Thursday through Saturday hosted by Indiana State. The women's heptathlon will begin at 9:00 a.m. (CT) on Thursday, followed by the first portion of the men's decathlon at 9:30 a.m. (CT). The three-day event will be contested at the Gibson Track & Field Complex in Terre Haute, Ind.
 
On Friday, the Panthers will compete in the 10,000m run at the Phil Esten Challenge at UW-La Crosse. The event is currently scheduled to begin at 4:25 p.m. (CT) at Veterans Memorial Field in La Crosse.
 
WOMEN'S LAST TIME OUT
 
The Panther women were in competition last weekend at the Duke and Marquette Invitationals, with some impressive showings at each meet.
 
Friday at the Duke Invitational, Cailin Kinas beat her own school record in the 3000m steeplechase by almost seven seconds, moving her mark to 10:49.51.
 
Also in Durham, Natalie Block made a splash in her season debut, earning Horizon League Runner of the Week after finishing the 400m hurdles in 57.84. Her time in the event ranks first in the Horizon League and 25th in NCAA Division I so far this season.
 
In the heptathlon, Anna Szepieniec earned 5,052 points to rank her second on the program's all-time leaderboard.
 
Winning her group of the heptathlon was Kallie Volk, who moved into fourth in the all-time ranks with 4,941 points.
 
At the Marquette Invitational, Isabel Roloff, Kalea Weyenberg, Lilly Wepking, and Angelica Refinski combined to take the top spot in the 4x100m relay, posting a time of 47.28.
 
Roloff went on to win the 100m dash (12.25), while Weyenberg took the 200m dash (25.60).
 
Rachel Helm and Ally Schmitz finished one-two in the 800m run, Helm coming in 2:16.87, followed by the time of  2:17.87 from Schmitz.
 
MEN'S LAST TIME OUT
 
Liam Richards highlighted the men's squad at the Duke Invitational winning his decathlon group and shooting up to second in program leaderboard in the event with 6,959 points.
 
Karsten Grundahl and Anthony Buford both had early-season bests, Grundahl notched a time of 1:51.10 in the 800m run while Buford posted a 49.52 in the 400m dash.
 
At Marquette, Iyimi Fagbamiye cruised through the 110m hurdles in 14.32 to put himself in eighth place on the program's all-time list to win the event. The performance was enough to earn Fagbamiye Horizon League Runner of the Week on the men's side.
 
Divine Aniamaka blew past the field in the triple jump by over two meters with a leap of 15.01m.
 
In the high jump, Caden Thomas and Collin Schulz each cleared 1.95m, with Thomas taking first place and Schulz third after tiebreakers.
 
Jeremiah Johnson had a toss of 48.45m to claim another Milwaukee victory in the hammer throw. Aiden Janke added to the success in the throws, winning shot put heave of 14.76m.
 
Rounding out the eight winners the Panthers had was Nate Griepentrog pacing the field in the 800m run at 1:55.69 along with Trey Meier in his first career 3000m steeplechase race (9:57.89).

Milwaukee will hit the road for two more meets next weekend starting with the Drake Alternative hosted by UW-Whitewater on Apr. 25 at Rex Foster Track Complex in Whitewater, Wis. Then on Saturday the Panthers will compete at the Fighting Illini Twilight taking place at Demirjiran Park in Champaign, Ill.
