MILWAUKEE – Rising sophomore
Ty Bauschelt of the Milwaukee men's track & field team has qualified for the USA Track & Field U20 Outdoor Championships and will compete at Hayward Field in Oregon on Thursday afternoon.
Â
Bauschelt put together an impressive first campaign with the Panthers, culminating this outdoor season with the Horizon League Running Events Freshman of the Year award.
Â
The distinction came on the heels of a pair of championships at the league meet, as Bauschelt won the 400m dash with a time of 47.10 and was also part of the 4x400m relay team that took first place with a time of 3:12.81.
Â
During the indoor campaign, he also won Horizon League titles in the 400m (47.77) and the 4x400m relay (3:15.65).
Â
The USATF U20 Championships will take place at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. on June 18-19, with the 400m dash scheduled to begin at 2:36 p.m. (CT) on Thursday. Three heats are scheduled to be contested, with Bauschelt in the first, with the top two finishers in each heat advancing to the finals. The next three fastest times, regardless of heat, will also qualify.
Â
The finals are scheduled to occur on Friday at 5:43 p.m. The entire two-day event will be broadcast on
USATF.tv, a subscription-based online platform. Live results of the event will also be available on
