MADISON, Wis.- The Milwaukee women's track & field team was in action at both the Jim Green Invitational, and Badger Challenge to start its weekend Friday.
 
JIM GREEN INVITATIONAL
 
Today marked the first day of Kentucky's Jim Green Invitational in Lexington, Ky. 
Natalie Block had big showing, finishing the 400m hurdles in 57.85 to pick up a victory for the Panthers.
 
Leah Handshoe joined Block in the event running to a time of 1:04.22.
 
Anna Szepieniec tied her career-best in the long jump, reaching a distance of 5.94m, a mark that has her in third place on the school's all-time leaderboard.
 
In the 200m dash, 
Victoria Evtimov reached the finish line in 24.75.
 
Kallie Volk competed in the javelin, launching an attempt 32.46m to finish in third place on the day.
 
Milwaukee will return for day two of the meet tomorrow beginning at 11:00 a.m. (CT).
 
BADGER CHALLENGE
 
Hailey Soriaga had a big personal best in the pole vault, finishing runner-up and clearing 3.82m to move up to fifth place in the program's all-time rankings.
 
Claiming a victory for Milwaukee in the high jump was 
Olivia VanZeeland, hitting a height of 1.73m to clear the field.
 
On the track, 
Brooke Crosby had two second-place finishes on the day, first in the 100m hurdles after notching a time of 14.74. Then in the 400m hurdles, she came around in 1:06.41 to close out her day.
 
Adding her own runner-up finish in the 400m dash was 
Taylor Thimmesch, who posted the best time of her career at 57.99.
 
In the 100m dash, 
Isabel Roloff led the way in third place with a time of 12.28, and right behind her in fourth was 
Angelica Refinski coming in at 12.33.
 
Kalea Weyenberg took second place in the 200m dash, crossing the finish line in 25.36, and was followed up by Refinski at 25.55.
