MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Milwaukee track and field team is back in action this weekend as the Panthers head south to Kenosha for the UW-Parkside Classic. Competition begins on Friday at 10:00 am and wraps up Saturday, February 6.
PARKSIDE PREVIEW
The UW-Parkside Classic will begin on Friday, February 5 with five women's pentathlon events and four men's heptathlon.
The two-day meet will wrap on Saturday as field events get rolling at 9:00 am followed by running events at 2:20 pm. All updates and any coverage links can be found on

TIERNEY WRAP UP
Sprints stole the show once again on the men's side as
Michael Gorman and
Golden Cotton took the top two spots in both the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes. For the second straight event, Gorman knocked off the program's top time, winning the 60-meter dash with a school record time of 6.85 seconds. Cotton was right on his heels as he raced to a new personal best of 6.89 seconds, the third-fastest time in school history.
On the women's side,
Aubrey Anderson put together another solid showing in the 800-meter run, racing to the title with a time of 2:20.93, beating her previous best of 2:22.20 from the season opener.
Meg Swietlik led a group of five Milwaukee runners in the 3,000-meter, dominating the race with a time of 9:53.89 which sits as the sixth-fastest time in school history.
Anya Athan locked down a pair of first place finishes in her second event of the season, taking the 400-meter and 200-meter race titles. The senior clinched the 400-meter with a time of 1:01.72 and raced to a 27.03-second finish in the 200-meter dash.
Freshman
Nadia Vo had a solid outing in the Klotsche, topping the long jump podium with a personal-best mark of 5.79 meters. Vo also recorded a 1.53-meter mark in the high jump, another personal record.
HORIZON LEAGUE HONORS
Behind some solid performances at the season-opening Panther Invite, Milwaukee swept the Horizon League Weekly awards on January 12.
Michael Gorman,
Aubrey Anderson,
Obi Iwuagwu, and
Chieme Udaku each collected a league honor.
SEASON DEBUTS
The Panthers opened the indoor season at The Panther Invite on January 9 and had some solid individual showings.
On the men's side,
Michael Gorman set a then school record in the 60-meter dash, posting a time of 6.86 in both the prelims and the finals, topping Ashley Bronk's mark of 6.87 seconds which was set in 1996.
Additionally,
Caleb Henry won the 400-meter race with a personal best time of 50.77 while
Jack Fitzgerald and
Michael Sippy finished 1-2 in the 800-meter.
Austin Wallace (long jump), and
Obi Iwuagwu (triple jump) also earned individual titles.
Annie Guerrero and
Chieme Udaku each earned first place finishes on the women's side, taking the high jump and triple jump, respectively.
