MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee men's track & field squad competed in the final days of the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C., as well as the Marquette Invitational held in Milwaukee, Wis.
DUKE INVITATIONAL
In the 400-meter run,
Ty Bauschelt ran a personal-best time of 47.45, finishing 14th. His mark ranks fifth in program history.
Zac Schmidt and
Anthony Buford also competed in the event, turning in times of 48.13 and 48.56 (PR), respectively.
The Panther trio also competed in the 200-meter dash, where Bauschelt came out as the top Milwaukee runner. He crossed the line 12th with a time of 21.49, slotting him seventh in the Panther record books for the event. Schmidt was the next member of the Black & Gold to complete the race (22.07), followed by Buford (22.34).
Racing in the 800-meter run was
Karsten Grundahl who recorded a time of 1:53.49.
In the field events, Buford finished in the top-20 of the long jump, soaring over 6.97 meters.
MARQUETTE INVITATIONAL
Josh Cygan took home the discus title, throwing an impressive 50.88 meters.
Aiden Janke cracked the top-five in the event, ending fourth with his 43.40-meter outing.
In addition to his discus throw success, Janke recorded the top mark in the shot put, registering a season-best 15.07-meter effort.
Brendan Vlasak crossed the line second in the 110-meter hurdles, clocking a time of 14.91.
Ethan Criter also raced in the event where he finished fifth (15.88).
In the 1500-meter run,
Zach Moss turned in a third-place effort, completing the run in 4:00.27.
Talon Gamez cracked the top-10 in the event as well, running a 4:10.98.
Notching a new personal best in the 800-meter run was
Dylan Longworth. He ended fourth, clocking a time of 1:56.20.
Moss, along with
Alex Anewenter, battled in the 5000-meter run. The duo finished in the top-5 of the event, with Moss ending third with a season-best time of 15:18.58, and Anewenter taking fifth (15:32.20).
Bradyn Thomas was the top pole vaulter for Milwaukee, clearing 4.37 meters which was good for fourth.
Noah Gilbertsen added a seventh-place (4.07 meters) effort for the Black & Gold.

Milwaukee looks ahead to two meets next week, with select athletes traveling to Terre Haute, Ind., for the Gibson Invitational, while others will make their way to La Crosse, Wis., for the Phil Esten Challenge.
