MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee track & field teams are set to compete in a pair of meets this weekend, with select athletes competing in the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C. Apr. 9-11, while others will stay local and compete at the Marquette Invitational Apr. 10-11.

The Panthers last competed at the Ashton May Invitational hosted by UW-La Crosse.
Anna Szepieniec and
Brooke Crosby both shined in the 100-meter hurdles, taking the top two spots in the prelims of the event. In the finals, Crosby crossed the finish line first with her 14.79 effort.
Three members of the Black & Gold clinched a spot in the 100-meter finals, where
Katie Burns finished third (12.49).
Isabel Roloff and
Angelica Refinski rounded out the finals finishes for Milwaukee, earning fifth (12.79) and sixth (12.81) place finishes, respectively.
Etching her way into the Panther top-10 record books was Burns in the 200-meter dash. She clocked a time of 24.52 which ranks 10th in program history.
Milwaukee saw many athletes shine in the field events at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. In the high jump,
Olivia VanZeeland won the event with her 1.71-meter clearance. She currently holds the top spot in the Horizon League with the outing.
Nevia Levenhagen earned the top spot on the podium with her 5.72-meter jump in the long jump, and
Emma Johnson cracked the Panther top-10 after clearing 3.77 meters in the pole vault.
On the men's side,
Zach Moss won the 1500-meter run with his career-best 15:30.80 effort.
Aidan Sosnowski was right behind him, finishing runner-up with a time of 15:38.82.
Matt Scardina performed well in sprints, finishing in the top-five of the 200-meter dash (22.54), and qualifying for the finals of the 100-meter with a mark of 11.11.
In the 110-meter hurdles,
Brendan Vlasak delivered two strong performances, posting a prelim time of 14.94 to advance to the finals, where he improved to 14.91 to finish second overall.
