MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee track & field teams are set to compete in a pair of meets this week, with athletes traveling to Terre Haute, Ind., for the Gibson Invitational Apr. 16-18 and to La Crosse, Wis., for the Phil Esten Challenge Apr. 17-18.

The Panthers last competed in the Duke and Marquette Invitationals, with athletes shining in both contests.
Olivia VanZeeland is fresh off her second consecutive high jump victory. The senior cleared a season-best 1.74 meters in the meet at Duke, a mark that ranks first in the Horizon League for the event.
Natalie Block delivered two top-three performances at the meet in Durham, N.C., finishing second in the 400-meter hurdles (57.12) and third in the 100-meter hurdles (13.23). Block earned her second outdoor weekly Horizon League honor of the season after the successful weekend.
Also earning a Horizon League weekly nod was
Anna Szepieniec, who dominated in the field events at Duke. She registered the second-best long jump outing in Panther history after jumping 6.12 meters. Szepieniec also cracked the top-10 in the triple jump, finishing sixth with her 11.89-meter effort.
For the men,
Ty Bauschelt delivered two Panther top-10 efforts at the Duke Invite. He ran a personal-best 47.45 in the 400-meter run, slotting himself fifth in program history for the event. He was not done there, running a 21.49 in the 200-meter dash to finish 12
th.
The 400-meter run success continued for the Panthers, with
Zac Schmidt and
Anthony Buford producing solid outings. Schmidt turned in a time of 48.13 which ranks second in the Horizon League for the event, while Buford ran a personal-best 48.56 to hold the fourth-best mark in the league.
Sam Schreiber slotted himself third in the Panther record books for the steeplechase, finishing sixth with a time of 9:04.14. He currently ranks second in the Horizon League for the event after the impressive outing.
At the meet in Milwaukee, Wis.,
Josh Cygan won the discus throw for the second time this season, recording a 50.88-meter outing.
Aiden Janke also took a top spot at the Marquette meet, throwing 15.07 meters to win the shot put.

The Panthers look ahead to meets hosted by Louisville and UW-Whitewater. The Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Open in Louisville, Ky., will take place Apr. 24-25, while the Drake Alternative in Whitewater, Wis., is scheduled for Friday, Apr. 24.
