Men's Track & Field Wraps Up Action at Gibson Invitational

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.- The Milwaukee men's track & field team closed out the third and final day of Indiana State's Gibson Invitational Saturday.
 
Highlighting the Panthers in the Triple Jump was Divine Aniamaka, who used a leap of 15.11m to win the event.
 
"We definitely faced some adverse conditions with the cold and rain but I thought we got a lot accomplished and performed really well." Said head coach Andrew Basler.
 
In the high jump, Caden Thomas cleared 2.03m to take third place and move him into a tie for 10th on the program's all-time outdoor leaderboard.
 
"I thought Caden looked really good in the high jump getting some strong looks at a PR." Basler added.
 
Anthony Campbell took part in the long jump, reaching a distance of 6.88m to earn third place.
 
On the track, Iyimi Fagbamiye got things started with a fourth-place finish in the 110m hurdles, reaching the finish in 14.48.
 
Moving to the 100m dash, Jaelyn Reeves-Lile finished 10th in the 56-runner field making it across the line in 10.93.
 
Carter Eckhoff led the way for the Black & Gold in the 1500m run, coming in with a time of 3:53.82.
 
Competing in the 400m dash, Anthony Buford improved his personal best in the race to 49.49.
 
As a team, Milwaukee finished tied for fourth out of the 27 programs at the meet with 47 points.

The Panthers will hit the road for two more meets next weekend starting with the Drake Alternative hosted by UW-Whitewater on Apr. 25 at Rex Foster Track Complex in Whitewater, Wis. Then on Saturday the Panthers will compete at the Fighting Illini Twilight taking place at Demirjiran Park in Champaign, Ill.
