Track & Field Closes Out Weekend at Duke Invitational

April 12, 2025

DURHAM, N.C. - The Milwaukee track & field teams wrapped up their weekend at the Duke Invitational on Saturday.

Natalie Block made her season debut for the Panthers, running in the 400m hurdles and finishing fifth with a time of 57.85.

"Natalie made her return after not racing for about nine months," said head coach Andrew Basler. "As her race progressed, she looked more at home, her time ended up hitting the minimum standards for the USA Championships."

In the 200m dash, Jaelyn Reeves-Lile crossed the line in 21.69 to earn a 22nd place finish out of the 85-runner field.

On the women's side of the 200m dash, Victoria Evtimov was the top finisher for Milwaukee coming in at 25.09, followed closely by Katie Burns with a time of 25.19.

The duo also competed in the 400m dash Burns improved her career-best that also places her ninth in program history at 56.16. Evtimov ran in the event for the first time in her outdoor career posting a 57.07.

"Victoria and Katie ran a really strong 400m dash," added Basler. "It was a huge personal-best for Victoria in that race."

Anthony Buford was the 400m dash representative for the men's team, making his way around the track in 49.52.

Rounding out action on the track was Karsten Grundahl, whose time of 1:53.10 in the 800m run improved upon his personal-best mark.

"Karsten got out a little too conservative in the 800m run but really finished strong to run a solid race." Basler continued.

Evan Bartelsen placed fifth in the pole vault as he cleared a height of 4.65m.

"Evan had two great jumps at 4.80m," Basler concluded. "I know he wanted to have a better result, but he's on the verge of something big."
