MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee men's track & field team kicked off the final weekend of the regular season on Friday, participating in a pair of events as the team competed at the Drake Alternative hosted by Whitewater, while the Clark Wood Invitational was contested at the University of Louisville.
Drake Alternative Summary
Caleb Rogalski won the shot put with a career-best throw of 17.02 meters as he reestablished his own fifth place standing in the program's outdoor record book. Rogalski also took third in the discus at 52.49 meters, and fourth in the hammer throw with a toss of 54.49 meters.
Finnegan Shields had a pair of top-10 finishes and was seventh in the discus at 46.45m, while also taking 10th in the hammer throw at 46.28 meters.
On the track,
Nick Hottinger had a time of 16.15 in the 110m hurdles and was just shy of tying his career-best time in the event.
Sam Schreiber was entered in his first-ever 1500m run and registered a time of 4:12.50.
Wade Duffek led the Panthers in the 800m run with a time of 2:03.88.

Milwaukee was led on the track by
Dane Nelson, who took third in the 400m hurdles as he clocked in with a 53.83.
Anthony Campbell led Milwaukee in the long jump at 7.28 meters as he took the third podium spot for the Panthers.
Tim Maidment had a 6.68m jump while
Jack Misky cleared a career-best 6.00 meters. Misky also took part in the discus throw and had a 45.38 for a new career-best mark.
Golden Cotton also had a near top-three finish for the Panthers as he took fourth in the 200m dash with a time of 21.45.
Anthony Kessler was second in the event for the Panthers with a 22.30 as he nearly missed on a career-best time, while
Caleb Anderson was third for the Panthers with a 22.57, surpassing his previous personal best time.
In the men's 800m run, it was
Edgardo Valdes Gonzalez to pace the Panther trio with a 1:56.23, followed by
Nate Griepentrog at 1:57.29, and
Gavin Czarnecki at 1:57.81.
