MILWAUKEE – History was once again made by the Milwaukee women's track & field team on Saturday afternoon, as two more indoor program records fell for the program.
Â
Natalie Block set a new program-best time in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.38 in the prelims en route to a win in the finals with a time of 8.43. The mark eclipsed the previous program mark of 8.40 set during her sophomore season in February 2022. It was also her fifth win in the event this season.
Â
Meanwhile during field events, it was
Kate Watson once again resetting her own program record, as she became the first female in Panther history to clear 4.00 meters, hitting the 4.00 mark and breaking her previous program-record of 3.97 meters set back in January of this season.
Â
Annie Guerrero also got in on the record-setting action as she cleared a height of 1.75 meters to set a new personal-best, while also setting a new mark in the Panther Tune-Up Record Book. Guerrero continues to edge closer to the program mark of 1.78 meters, set back during the 2020 season by Ashley Melvin.
Â
Overall, the Panthers littered the leaderboard with seven individual victories total. Block, Watson and Guerrero all won their respective events, while
Sara Jochims was able to secure a win on the track side in the mile run with a personal-best time of 5:24.49.
Â
At the sand pit, Milwaukee won both the long jump as
Nadia Vo had a 5.64-meters jump with plenty of distance to spare against her closest competitor.
Olivia Busch also won triple jump at 11.08 meters, over a full meter clear of second place for her second top-three of the season.
Â
Tabitha Wechlo won the shot put at 13.95 meters, in an event where Milwaukee swept the podium as
Lauren Lietzke was second at 13.79 meters and
Samantha Satterfield took third at 12.35 meters, as both Lietzke and Satterfield continue to improve on their distances throughout the indoor season.
Â
Lietzke was also second in the weight throw at 16.75 meters, while
Cynthia Hernandez took third at 16.54 meters.
Â
Milwaukee also swept the podium in the vault behind Watson's record-setting performance,
Isabel Roloff was second at a career-best 3.65 meters, while
Ella Laughbaum took third at 3.35 meters.
Â
In the hurdles, Block led the way for a Panther sweep as well, with
Cloey Fare recording a personal-best time of 8.65, while
Aubrie Gorski had a strong showing of 8.92 for a new career-best in the prelims before a time of 8.93 in the finals.
Â
Milwaukee had two other top-three finishes as
Olivia VanZeeland was second behind Guerrero with a 1.60-meter-high jump, while
Brooke Crosby was third in the 400m dash with a PR time of 1:01.1. Crosby also had a PR in the 60m hurdle prelims with a 8.86.
Â
Finally, two other PRs fell for a pair of Panthers as
Kortnie Volk registered a personal-best in the 60m hurdle prelims with a 9.66, while
Jada Schuh secured up a PR in the high jump at 1.45 meters.
Â
Milwaukee will rest up for the Horizon League Championship, set to begin next Saturday in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The two-day event will culminate with the men's and women's indoor track & field championships on Sunday afternoon.
