NEW ORLEANS – On Tuesday, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced its second week of Indoor Track & Field Ratings Index. The Milwaukee men's track & field program is currently ranked nationally, while both the men's and women's track & field programs are both among the top teams in the Great Lakes regional index.

The men's program currently stands in 82nd among the 144 programs ranked across the nation and are tops among the three programs ranked from the Horizon League ahead of both Youngstown State and Oakland.

Both the Milwaukee men's and women's programs are also ranked in the Great Lakes region, as the men are 14th of the top-15 with a score of 66.07; while the women are 15th in the region at 63.03 points.

The men's team has been led by senior
Austin Wallace, who is currently 12th in the nation with a score of 5760 in the heptathlon, while he is also 34th in the country in the long jump at 7.60 meters. The men's team currently has 11 student-athletes on the team within the top-three of the Horizon League across all events, with Wallace as the conference leader in the heptathlon.

The women's program has 12 student-athletes in the top-three among Horizon League participants. Leading the conference in their respective events are
Natalie Block in both the 60m hurdles and the pentathlon,
Annie Guerrero in the high jump, and
Lauren Lietzke in the weight throw.

Milwaukee heads to Wisconsin-La Crosse on Saturday afternoon to take part in the Mark Guthrie Legacy Invitational.
