MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee track & field team received three Horizon League Athlete of the Week honors, announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.
Ty Bauschelt secured his first outdoor Runner of the Week nod, while
Nevia Levenhagen and
Anthony Buford earned the Field Athlete of the Week awards.
At the Gary Wieneke Memorial hosted by Illinois, Bauschelt placed third in the 400-meter dash, clocking a personal-best 47.20. The mark ranks first in the Horizon League this season and fifth all-time in program history. It also extends his streak to three consecutive weeks with a personal best in the event.
Levenhagen recorded two top three finishes at the Badger Challenge held in Madison, Wis. In the long jump, she registered an outdoor career-best jump of 5.89 meters, a mark that ranks second in the Horizon League and eighth in the Panther record books. Her success continued in the triple jump, where she took home third after clearing 11.43 meters.
Buford receives the honor after a runner-up finish in the long jump at the Gary Wieneke Memorial. In the event, he jumped a season-best 7.24 meters. His effort currently ranks fifth in the league for the event.

The Milwaukee track & field teams look ahead to the Horizon League Outdoor Championships hosted by Oakland in Rochester, Mich. The meet will be held at the Elaine Leigh Track & Field Complex May 8-10.
