Panthers Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Awards

Both teams collected the award

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Both the Milwaukee men's and women's track and field programs were recognized by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as All-Academic Teams. Additionally, five Panthers' individuals were named All-Academic Athletes.
 
On the men's side, the Panthers were one of 193 programs to earn the distinction while the Milwaukee women were one of 253 teams.
 
To be eligible, teams must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. The Milwaukee men own a cumulative GPA of 3.287 while the women hold a 3.580.
 
Individually, Natalie Block, Sam Conger, Annie Guerrero, Meg Swietlik, and Jayde Wollenberg each earned All-Academic honors.
 
To be eligible as an individual, student-athletes must maintain a 3.25 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Additionally, student-athletes must have finished the season ranked in the top 96 in any championship individual event or in the top 48 in any championship relay event for the indoor season. Outdoors, the student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships including preliminary rounds.
 
Block put together a 3.425 GPA in her first year for the Panthers and advanced to the NCAA West Regional in the 400-meter dash. She tallied top-10 program times in the 200-meter, 400-meter, 100-meter hurdles, 400-meter hurdles, and heptathlon this past season.
 
Conger captured the 60-meter hurdle title and was runner-up in the 110-meter hurdles while maintaining a solid 3.318 GPA in his work toward a computer science degree.    
 
Guerrero also reached the NCAA West Regional for the first time thanks to a school-record mark of 1.75 meters in the high jump. The junior is majoring in biomedical science and owns a GPA of 3.720.
 
Swietlik had another stellar season for the Panthers and holds a 3.779 GPA in her work toward a degree in kinesiology. The senior was crowned the Horizon League Cross Country Champion as well as earning the 5,000-meter title at the Indoor Championships.
 
Wollenberg earned a runner-up finish for the Panthers in the pole vault at the Horizon League Outdoor Championships and is a nursing major with a 3.693 GPA.
