MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Milwaukee tennis team return to competitive play after a bye weekend, and will travel to Cincinnati at the Lindner Tennis Center at Lunken to take on Northern Kentucky this Saturday and Sunday.
Last Time Out: Milwaukee opened league play against five-time conference champs, Youngstown State. The Panthers lost the first match in a nail biter, 4-3, but struggled the following day, falling 6-1.
Freshman
Greta Carbone went 2-0 from the No. 1 singles line and improved to 8-2 overall and 7-2 from the No. 1 line so far this season. Classmate
Iva Stejskalova also picked up a singles win over the course of the weekend to move to 7-4 overall.
About the Norse: Northern Kentucky is currently 2-2-1 on the season with it's last four conference matches against IUPUI and UIC canceled due to COVID-related matters within NKU's Tier I personnel, which includes student-athletes, coaches and essentially support staff.
The Norse are led by three-time All-Horizon League First Team and two-time Horizon League Player of the Year, Margita Sunjic. Sunjic has a combined record of 44-15 in singles play. She is 6-2 so far in 2021 – all from No. 1 singles line.
NKU also has two-time All-Horizon League Second Team winner Maria Koo. She is a combined 28-16 in singles play and 6-3 this season.
By the Numbers: The Black & Gold are led by senior
Anna Daniel Fuentes and
Greta Carbone in the win column. The two are combined for a 16-5 record, each tallying eight wins each.
In doubles, the Panthers hold an immaculate .742 winning percentage with a 23-8 overall record. They have only failed to earn the doubles point twice this season.

Nikki Milner lead Milwaukee with an 8-3 record. Seniors
Anna Daniel Fuentes and
Agata Jurczak are also 8-3, while freshmen
Greta Carbone are 7-2 from the No. 1 line – including a four-match win streak.
Home is Where the Heart Lies: When playing at River Glen Elite, the Panthers hold a 6-1 record, with their lone loss to Northern Illinois.
What's on Tap: Milwaukee will finally have home court advantage the weekend of April 3-4. The team will host IUPUI from River Glen Elite beginning at 1 p.m.
