MILWAUKEE – Two members of the Milwaukee women's tennis team have been named to the 2025-26 Academic All-District Tennis Team, selected by the College Sports Communicators, the organization announced today.
Nadiia Konieva and
Sara Simonova were both honored Tuesday. The team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
The awards mark three straight seasons that Konieva and Simonova have been honored by CSC. Each were also both recently named to the Horizon League Valeo All-Academic Team for the third straight year as well.
Konieva, psychology major with an impressive 3.983 GPA in the classroom, was named All-Horizon League First Team for the second time in her Milwaukee career this spring after a season in which she went 18-8 in singles play and 16-9 in doubles action. The postseason honor was the third of her career (First Team 2023/Second Team 2025) and her singles win total ranked second on the roster. She capped a tremendous collegiate career in which she leaves her name all over the MKE record book: her 64 career singles victories ranks fourth all-time, 67 career doubles victories finishes fifth, and her 131 career combined victories is fifth in program history. From a winning percentage standpoint, her career singles mark (64-77/.577) is sixth, doubles (67-43/.609) is eighth, and combined (131-90/.593) is sixth.
Simonova, a political science major with a near-perfect 3.991 GPA, finished her career with the best doubles season of her time as a Panther, going 19-7 in doubles action while also recording six victories in singles play. Her doubles win percentage of .731 for the season ranks ninth best in a single season and, for her career, also leaves her name in numerous spots in the MKE record book. Simonova's 58 career doubles victories ranks tied for sixth, 113 doubles appearances is also tied for fifth, and her 93 career combined victories checks in tied for 15th in program history. She was also an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar Athlete in 2022 and has been named to the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll every semester eligible.
