Also paired up for the first time, UWM's
Loren Nelson and
Nicole Clarke also won their match 6-4 to clinch the double points for the Panthers.
"Getting the doubles point was huge for us today," said head coach
Jason Potthoff. "I felt that we were needing a change so we rearranged a couple of the doubles team this week, and both of the new pairings played with confidence and took care of business."
Nicole Clarke and
Lucy Harper picked up their sixth dual match win of the season by defeating their opponents in straight sets in singles play. Clarke won 6-2, 6-4, while Harper won easily 6-2, 6-0.
"Nicole and Lucy gave us a huge boost by taking care of business quickly, and by then we had regained control of the front courts [after getting off to a very slow start]." added Potthoff. "From there, we played well the rest of the way."
Also winning in straight sets were
Loren Nelson and
Anna Daniel Fuentes, both earning their fourth dual win on the year.
Panthers'
