Panther Tennis Home For First Time This Season

UWM to host Chicago Saturday at River Glen Elite

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee women's tennis team is home for the first time this season, playing a pair of matches in Milwaukee, starting Saturday.

UWM will start the weekend Saturday at 12:30 by playing host to the University of Chicago at River Glen Elite.

Then, just over 24 hours later, the Panthers will be right back at River Glen to take on Cardinal Stritch at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Big Win
Milwaukee notched its first win of the season and the first for new head coach Jeff Aranda last weekend with a 4-3 victory of a very talented South Dakota squad.

UWM won the doubles point after taking the No. 2 and No. 3 spots. Then, Milwaukee got wins from Laurie Clark, Alysa Straub and Aerielle Pendleton in singles action to secure the win.

About Chicago
UChicago heads into Saturday's match 1-0 after a 5-2 win over Chicago State nearly two weeks ago.

The Maroons are ranked No. 15 in DIII. Freshman Kaela Bynoe was named her conference player of the week after a three-set win against the Cougars. Milwaukee won last year's meeting, 4-3.

About Cardinal Stritch
The Wolves once again have high hopes this season, being ranked fifth in the NAIA in the preseason poll – the highest ranking in school history. CSU was also once again picked to win its conference in the preseason poll.

Cardinal Stritch is off to a 1-0 start after 6-1 win over fellow Horizon League institution Green Bay last Friday.
