CHICAGO -
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee won all six singles matches and all three doubles contests in claiming a convincing 7-0 win over Bradley Saturday.
UWM was rarely threatened in the contest, with five of the singles matches wrapping up in straight-sets. Maddy Soule and Christina Colarossi set the tone in doubles play by winning their match, 8-0. Colarossi also captured a 6-1, 6-0 win in the third singles spot.
The most competitive singles match of the day came in the fifth slot, where Beth Ganser pulled out a three-set victory. Brittany Skemp also won a hard-fought match in the sixth spot.
"This match was a great team effort," head coach Sean McInerney said. "I was very happy with how Beth Ganser and Brittany Skemp battled and found ways to win their matches."
The Panthers (3-1) won both of their matches in Chicago this weekend.
"This was a very solid weekend for our team," McInerney said. "We were able to win 16 out of the 18 individual matches we played and it was against quality competition. This year we are really focusing on each player's responsibility to win the position they play. Everyone is expected to win their match and so far our players have accepted that challenge."
