MILWAUKEE – Head coach
Andrew Basler announced the 2026 Milwaukee cross country schedule on Friday morning.
The season slate will feature five meets ahead of the 2026 Horizon League Championships in late October before the NCAA Great Lakes Regional a few weeks later.
The Panthers will begin the season on Sept. 4 by competing in the Huskie Classic, hosted by the Horizon League's newest member, Northern Illinois. The race in DeKalb, Illinois, will take place on the North 40 Course on the NIU campus.
The following weekend, Milwaukee heads north to the Shorewood Cross Country Course for the 2026 Phoenix Open, hosted by Green Bay. It will mark the fifth consecutive season the Panthers have competed at the meet during the second weekend of the season.
Next, Milwaukee will stay close to home, traveling to Veterans Park for the Jim Allen Classic, hosted by Marquette, on Sept. 25 to close out the month.
October begins with the Joe Piane Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame at the Burke Golf & Cross Country Course in South Bend, Indiana. Two weeks later, Milwaukee will compete in the Bradley Pink Classic at Newman Golf Course on Oct. 16 in an event hosted by Bradley.
The Bradley Pink Classic will serve as the Panthers' final tune-up before the Horizon League Championships for the sixth consecutive season. This year's league championship will take place in Clinton, Pa., on Oct. 31, with Robert Morris serving as the host at Youthtowne Fields. Both the men's and women's teams will look to improve upon their finishes from a season ago.
The NCAA Great Lakes Regional will be contested at Michigan State, with the Spartans hosting the regional at Forest Akers East Golf Course in East Lansing, Mich., on Nov. 13.
Should the Panthers qualify as a team or individually, the NCAA Championships will be held Nov. 21 in Terre Haute, Ind., hosted by Indiana State. The team and individual national champions for the 2026 NCAA Division I Cross Country season will be crowned at the LaVern Gibson Cross Country Course.
