Milwaukee Track & Field Competes Across Two Meets Friday

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee men's track & field squad competed in Wisconsin's Badger Invite as well as Illinois' Gary Wieneke Memorial Friday.

At the meet in Madison, Wis., Tim Maidment shined in the long jump. He finished fourth, jumping an outdoor season-best 6.63 meters. Alexander Maggit followed suit, also recording an outdoor season-best with his 6.43-meter leap.
 
Josh Cygan was the top Panther finisher in the discus, throwing 52.79-meters. His effort was just shy of his season-best (52.86 meters) that was set last week in Louisville, Ky. He finished ninth. Aiden Janke also competed in the event, turning in a personal-best outing with his 46.60-meter hurl.
 
Trevor Boyer threw 35.99 meters in the javelin throw. Nick O'Halloran and Trent Oiler were right on his heels, recording 35.76- and 30.52-meter performances, respectively.
 
In the pole vault, Bradyn Thomas tied his outdoor season-best effort after clearing 4.38 meters.
 
Tyler Dahlie cracked the top three in the triple jump, registering a 13.79-meter mark in the event.
 
Competing in the 800-meter dash was Talon Gamez, who crossed the finish line sixth in 1:57.60.
 
Oiler also competed in the 100-meter dash, where he ended sixth after running an 11.24.
 
The first Panther to cross the line in the 1500-meter was Sam Schrieber. He clocked a time of 3:55.34. Alex Anewenter and Zach Moss also battled in the event, turning in times of 3:59.16 (PR) and 4:04.11, respectively.

Anthony Buford was the sole male Panther to compete in the meet in Urbana-Champaign, Ill., racing in the 200-meter dash. The sophomore registered a career-best time of 21.98, finishing eighth.

Milwaukee prepares for the second day of Illinois' Gary Wieneke Memorial held at Demerjian Park in Urbana-Champaign, Ill. The first events are scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. CT.
