MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee track & field teams are set to compete in Louisville's Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Open and UW-Whitewater's Drake Alternative Friday and Saturday.

The Panthers last competed in the Gibson Invitational, hosted by Indiana State, and the Warrior Invitational, hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran.
Anna Szepieniec continued her impressive junior campaign at the Gibson Invite, winning the long jump with a 6.09-meter leap. She also set new personal bests in the javelin (30.75 meters) and the 200-meter dash (24.11). Szepieniec's 200-meter outing currently ranks third in program history.
In the high jump, the Black & Gold saw two athletes clear 1.70 meters.
Olivia VanZeeland won the event for the third consecutive week, and
Macy Woodward tied for second. Woodward's outdoor personal best currently ranks tied-seventh in the Panther top 10 records.
Katie Burns turned in two top-five finishes at the meet hosted by Indiana State. In the 200-meter dash, Burns ran a career-best time of 24.38 to cross the line fourth. Additionally, Burns took home third-place in the 400-meter run with a 55.12 effort.
The relay team of Burns,
Victoria Evtimov,
Angelica Refinski, and
Isabel Roloff won the 4x100-meter relay, clocking a time of 46.51. Their time currently ranks second in the Horizon League for the event.
For the Panther men,
Ty Bauschelt turned in a runner-up finish in the 400-meter run with a time of 47.47. He also earned a second-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay alongside
Anthony Buford,
Zac Schmidt, and
Matt Scardina. The team registered a time of 3:19.19.
Delivering two personal-best efforts in the hurdle events was
Brendan Vlasak. He finished seventh (14.71) in the 110-meter hurdles, and 13th in the 400-meter hurdles.
Buford cracked the top-15 in the 400-meter run with his time of 48.93. He also registered a career-best time in the 200-meter dash (22.09), where he crossed the line 13th.
