La Crosse, Wis. – The Milwaukee men's track & field team competed at La Crosse's Mark Guthrie Legacy Invitational in Hetzel Fieldhouse Saturday.
The Black & Gold secured two top-five finishes in the triple jump, led by
Kyril Griffin's third-place mark of 14.06 meters and
Bishop Bufford's fourth-place leap of 13.81 meters.
Harper Fahey turned in a personal-best effort in the mile run, completing the event in 4:17.94 to finish fourth.
Zach Moss followed suit, recording a lifetime-best time of 4:27.51.
A career best was also secured by
Sam Blascyk. In the 3000-meter run, Blascyk clocked a time of 9:15.26, shaving off over 14 seconds from his previous top effort.
In the pole vault,
Trevor Boyer tied his career-best clearance of 4.10 meters. Boyer also competed in the 60-meter hurdles where he finished thirteenth with an 8.78 performance.
Tim Maidment shined in the long jump, registering a 6.60-meter leap to finish seventh out of 21 total athletes.
In his first long jump outing in a Panther uniform,
Trent Oiler secured twelfth place with his 6.26-meter outing.
In the weight throw,
Josh Cygan turned in a fifth-place effort with his 16.69-meter toss.
