MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee track & field team earned two Horizon League Athlete of the Week awards, announced by the league office Tuesday.
Sam Schreiber and
Rachel Helm were honored as runners of the week after competing at the Panther Tune-Up held in the Klotsche Center.
Schreiber receives his first weekly indoor track & field honor after posting a solid outing in the mile run. He placed third in the event, clocking a personal-best time of 4:15.81. His effort currently ranks 13th in the Horizon League.
Helm secures her first track & field weekly award after finishing first in the mile run. She turned in a personal best time of 4:58.48 which ranks sixth in the Panther record books. Her outing sits seventh in the Horizon League for the event.
The Panthers look ahead to the Horizon League Indoor Championships hosted by Youngstown State in Youngstown, Ohio, Feb. 28-Mar. 1. The first events will kick off at 8:00 a.m. CT.
