MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee swim & dive team bested the Pointers of Stevens Point 160-108 on Senior Day in the Klotsche Natatorium Saturday.
"This meet is always full of mixed emotion," said head coach
Kyle Clements. "We have turned our sole focus to our end-of-season swims. Everything is about the Badger First Chance Meet or the Horizon League meet. These two meets will encapsulate our entire session, but the senior meet always makes us reflect."
The Panthers topped the podium in every event, highlighted by a personal-best effort from
Caleb Carlisle and season-best performances by
Gunnar Seversen and
Jean Ducastel.
In the 100 Freestyle, Carlisle touched the wall first recording a personal-best time of 44.94 in the event.
Seversen shined in the 1000 Freestyle where he claimed first place with a season-best 9:24.51 effort. He also finished over 20 seconds faster than the next swimmer.
Ducastel rounded out the trio of season-bests with his impressive 200 Backstroke outing, winning the event in 1:48.26.
In the 200 Freestyle, the Panthers went 1,2, and 3, with
Marko Vucelic (1:44.68) leading the charge.
Larry Rattler and
Konnor Pilger rounded out the podium spots for Milwaukee, finishing with times of 1:44.76 and 1:49.52, respectively.
Emre Arican took home a pair of victories in the Klotsche, securing first place in the 200 Butterfly (1:57.69) and 200 IM (1:57.16).
In the diving portion of the meet,
Will Francis won both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives. Francis collected 278.93 points for the 1-meter Dive, and 290.48 points from the 3-meter board.
The unit of Seversen, Carlisle, Rattler, and
Charlie House won the 200 Free Relay (1:23.25) by an impressive margin, finishing five seconds before the next opposing team.
"We watch our seniors swim for the last time at the K and it's hard not to think about all the time and work they have put in," added Clements. "We are proud of every one of them and thankful that they chose to spend their college career with us."
