PREVIEW: Panthers Kick Off Season at Wisconsin Showcase

Milwaukee looks to build on successful 2025-26

October 16, 2026

MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee swim & dive program is set to open its season Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Wisconsin Showcase, hosted in Brown Deer, Wis. at the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center.

The Panthers are slated to compete against MSOE and Marquette, as the meet is scheduled to get underway at 1:00 p.m. CT.

Milwaukee returns to the pool after a successful showing in 2025-26, where the program sent its first men's swimmer to the NCAA Championships. Sam Lorenz made history for the Panthers, breaking a school record in the 100 backstroke at the NCAA Championships in Atlanta to cap off a historic season.  The junior placed 26th in the 200 backstroke and 33rd in the 100 backstroke.

In total, the men's team went on to break 18 school records throughout the course of the season. Caleb Carlisle, Gunnar Seversen, Andrew Jones, Charlie House each join Lorenz as returners who currently hold the fastest times in program history in their respective events.

On the women's side, the Panthers are back after finishing as the runner-up in the Horizon League Championships last February. Milwaukee returns conference champions in multiple events, led by the likes of Christiana Brooks, Maddi Hayashi and Gabrielle LePine.

The Panthers have placed within the top-3 in the Horizon League for six consecutive seasons, seeking its first conference title for the women's program since the 2012-13 season.

After Saturday, Milwaukee will enjoy a week off before returning to the pool Friday, Oct. 31, at the UIC Triangular in Chicago. The Panthers will face off against both UIC and IU Indy on Halloween Day, with the meet set to start at 11:00 a.m. CT from the Flames Natatorium.
