Three Panthers Earn Tennis Academic All-District Honors

Each will advance to national ballot later this year

MILWAUKEE – Three members of the Milwaukee women's tennis team have been named to the 2024-25 Academic All-District Tennis Team, selected by the College Sports Communicators, the organization announced today.
 
Nadiia Konieva, Sara Simonova, and Emilia Durska were all honored Tuesday. The teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
 
The awards are repeat honors for Konieva and Simonova and a career-first for Durska.
 
Konieva, psychology major with an impressive 3.975 GPA in the classroom, led the Panthers in doubles victories with 16, all coming from the No. 1 doubles line. She has also added 12 singles wins and was recently named All-Horizon League Second Team and as a repeat honoree on the Horizon League Valeo All-Academic Team.
 
Named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team in 2024 and a 2022 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar Athlete, Konieva was selected First Team All-Horizon League and Freshman of the Year in 2023.
 
Simonova, a political science major with a near-perfect 3.988 GPA, has recorded 23 total victories this season, with 10 coming in singles play and 13 of them via doubles action. A strong student in the classroom, Simonova was also named as a repeat honoree on the Horizon League Valeo All-Academic Team. She also has been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team in 2024 and was an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar Athlete in 2022. She has been named to the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll every semester eligible.
 
Durska wrapped up a successful sophomore campaign, leading the Panthers in singles victories with 14 while adding 12 doubles wins. A Horizon League Academic Honor Roll member, Durska is a 3.784 student as a Criminal Justice & Criminology major in school.
