CHAMPAIGN, Ill.- The Milwaukee men's track & field team made the trip to compete at the Fighting Illini Twilight hosted by Illinois on Saturday.
Jaelyn Reeves-Lile turned in the second-best time in school history in both the 100m and 200m dashes to highlight a strong day for the Panthers.

Reeves-Lile started his day by winning the 100m dash, flying past the finish line in 10.35 to continue his climb in the record book. He followed that performance up in the 200m dash, with a third-place finish at 20.95.

"Jaelyn's double in the 100m and 200m today was really impressive," said head coach
Andrew Basler. "Both times are knocking on the door of NCAA Regional Preliminary mark, it's going to be fun to watch him these next two weekends."

Posting his own top-five performance in the discus was
Josh Cygan, he pushed his personal-best mark out to 52.73m to elevate himself to fifth on the school's all-time leaderboard, and claim the top spot in the event.

Divine Aniamaka collected another victory for Milwaukee in the triple jump, reaching a distance of 14.97m to top the field.

Leading the way for the squad in the 5000m run was
Will Whiteis finishing runner-up and moving into 10
th all-time in the program's rankings.

"It's been great seeing Will continue to improve and now break into the top-10 of the 5000m." Basler added.

In the high jump,
Caden Thomas matched the best mark of his outdoor career, hitting a jump of 2.03m to finish fourth on the day.

Evan Bartelsen had his best performance of the season in the pole vault, clearing 4.88m and placing fifth.

Back on the track,
Iyimi Fagbamiye finished fourth in the 110m hurdles with his time of 14.56.

Trey Meier ran the best 3000m steeplechase of his career, taking fourth place after notching a time of 9:38.31.

Basler finished saying. "With the Horizon League Championships two weeks away, today was exactly the progress we plan for as coaches. There were a lot of career and season bests across all events."

The Panthers will split for two more meets next weekend with Kentucky's Jim Green Invitational from May 2-3 at Shivley Track & Field Stadium in Lexington, Ky. Wisconsin's Badger Challenge will be taking place May 2 at 1:00 p.m. at McClimon Track Complex in Madison.

The weekend will be the last competition the teams see before the Horizon League Championships Scheduled for May 9-11 at Farmers National Bank Field in Youngstown, Ohio.
