MILWAUKEE – Nadiia Konieva of the Milwaukee women's tennis team was named All-Horizon League Second Team today when the league office announced the all-league teams and specialty award winners Thursday afternoon.
The postseason accolades are the second of her MKE career.
Konieva has stepped up to play No. 1 singles this year and has been a part of the No. 1 doubles squad for the past two school years, leading the way for the team.
Konieva currently leads the Panthers in doubles victories with 15, all coming from the No. 1 doubles line. She has also added eight singles wins and was named to the Horizon League Valeo All-Academic Team earlier this spring. A 2022 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar Athlete, Konieva was named First Team All-Horizon League and Freshman of the Year in 2023.
Konieva and the team head to the Horizon League Tournament as the No. 6 seed starting Friday, taking on No. 3 Oakland in a match set to start at 10 a.m. CT.
