MILWAUKEE – Nadiia Konieva and Sara Simonova of the Milwaukee women's tennis team have been named to the Horizon League Valeo All-Academic Team, announced today by the league office.
 
This marks a repeat honor for both student-athletes from a year ago while also extending the program streak to four consecutive seasons that the Panthers have had two players on the squad.

Konieva, psychology major with an impressive 3.975 GPA in the classroom, currently leads the Panthers in doubles victories with 13, all coming from the No. 1 doubles line. She has also added eight singles wins and was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team in 2024. A 2022 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar Athlete, she was named First Team All-Horizon League and Freshman of the Year in 2023.
 
Simonova, a political science major with a near-perfect 3.988 GPA, has recorded 18 total victories this season, with eight coming in singles play and 10 of them via doubles action. A strong student in the classroom, Simonova was also named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team in 2024 and was an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar Athlete in 2022. She has been named to the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll every semester eligible.
