MILWAUKEE- Milwaukee women's track & field team was back in action, playing host to the Panther Tune-Up Saturday.
Anna Szepieniec was outstanding for the Panthers, winning the long jump with the second-best performance in program history.

"We didn't have our full team competing today, but the ones that did took a great step forward," said head coach
Andrew Basler following the meet.

Szepieniec's jump of 5.97m improved her career best from 5.94m and bumps her from third to second on the all-time indoor leaderboard.

Morgan Pilate was sensational as well, winning the triple jump after reaching 12.48m to bump her up to fourth on the all-time list.
Olivia Busch turned in a solid performance as well taking third with a leap of 11.79m.

"Olivia and Morgan have both really set themselves up to have a special weekend at the championships next week," Basler added.

In the high jump,
Olivia VanZeeland earned the top spot on the day after clearing 1.68m.
Â
Claudia Conner had a throw of 12.02m in the shot put to give her a first-place finish.
Â
On the track,
Lilly Wepking crossed the finish line in 7.83 to edge out the competition and give Milwaukee the victory.

In the 60m hurdles,
Brooke Crosby came in at 8.91 to claim first place in the event.
Katie Sciarini joined her on the podium in third place with a time of 9.22.

Leah Handshoe kept the wins coming in the 400m dash, finishing in 1:00.99 to put her on top.

Rounding out the winners for the Panthers was
Kalea Weyenberg in the 200m dash making it around in 25.96.

Leading the pole vaulters was
Hailey Soriaga, taking second in the event after clearing 3.65m.

Ally Schmitz was the team's top performer in the 800m run posting a time of 2:20.18.

"Overall, I'm extremely excited and confident for this team as we head to the league championships," Basler concluded. "I firmly believe both teams will be fighting foor trophies by the time it's all said and done."

The Panthers will now look ahead to next weekend's Horizon League Indoor Championships held March 1-2 at Lutheran Health Fieldhouse in Fort Wayne, Ind.
