ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Milwaukee women's track & field team was in action at Grand Valley State's Big Meet Friday. 
 
Anelise Egge highlighted the day, taking down her second school record of the season in the 3000m run with a first-place time of 9:33.27. The record was previously set back in 1983 by Linda Marquardt at 9:40.12.  
 
 
"Anelise absolutely put on a show breaking a 41-year school record," said head coach 
Andrew Basler. "She stayed patient and then made a great push during the last 400 meters." 
 
 
Katie Burns moved herself up to fourth on the school's indoor 400m dash leaderboard with her time of 50.06. 
 
 
"Katie had an amazing 400 performance," Basler continued. "She has continued to show her dominance in that race this season."  
 
 
Evtimov also had a top-10 performance in program history as she finished the 200m dash in 25.10 to slot her seventh on the all-time list. 
 
In the mile run Milwaukee was led by 
Cailin Kinas, who carved out a fourth-place finish in the 51-runner field with a performance of 4:59.20. 
 
 
Anna Szepieniec qualified for the finals in the 60m hurdles after crossing the finish line in 8.72, there she posted an 8.79 to take eighth in the event. 
 
 
"We really performed well on the big track today," concluded Basler. "I really saw a lot of effort, grit and support. This meet was exactly what we needed two weeks out from the conference championship meet."  
 
UP NEXT 
 
Milwaukee will return to host its final home meet next week on Feb. 22 for the Panther Tune-Up, starting 10:00 a.m. at the Klotsche Center. The meet will be the last before the Horizon League Indoor Championships taking place March 1-2 in Fort Wayne, Ind.
