Moss Grabs Third, Team Secures Second Place at Warrior Invitational

WEST ALLIS, Wis. – The Panther cross country team competed at Wisconsin Lutheran's Warrior Invitational Saturday morning at Greenfield Park in West Allis, Wis.
 
As a unit, Milwaukee claimed a second-place finish out of 10 competing teams, logging 47 points. The Black and Gold saw each of its runners finish in the top-20.
 
"We had a small group of runners toe the line at Greenfield Park today," Andrew Basler mentioned. "Our group finished as the top collegiate program … Zach Moss ran his first race of the year and looked strong."
 
Moss was the standout for the Panthers in his first race of his sophomore campaign, crossing the finish line third and recording a time of 27:29.20.
 
Nathan Powley also saw success at the Warrior Invitational, logging an eighth-place finish with a time of 27:41.36.
 
Will Perez and Sam Blascyk were the next Panthers to cross the finish line, placing 13th (28:15.09), and 15th (28:31.03), respectively.
 
Owen Lincicum made strides in the event as well, logging a 19th-place finish with a time of 28:52.71.
 
The Panthers will look ahead to the Bradley Pink Classic held in Peoria, Ill., at the Newman Golf Course on Friday, Oct. 17.
