MILWAUKEE- The Milwaukee women's track & field team hosted the 12
th annual Tierney Classic at the Klotsche Center Saturday. The Panthers were able to pick up six first-place finishes in a solid day of action.
 
"The Tierney Classic is an electric home event," head coach 
Andrew Basler said. "With many alumni back, the honoring of our seniors, and performing in front of family, I think that electricity brought out many great performances today. Thanks to all those who helped organize and run this successful home event."
 
Hailey Soriaga had a fantastic day in the pole vault, clearing 3.75m to win the event and give her the seventh-best performance in school history.
 
Continuing her standout season was 
Anna Szepieniec. She had an outstanding showing in the triple jump, winning the event with a jump of 11.78m. Szepieniec starred in the long jump as well, reaching 5.94m to move her into third-place all time of the school leaderboard.
 
Olivia Busch showed out nicely in the triple Jump as well, coming in second with a distance of 11.70m.
 
Kallie Volk put herself into a tie for fourth all-time in school history in the high jump, clearing 1.70m to claim second in the event.
 
Moving to the track, Milwaukee took the top four spots in the 60m dash. Leading the way was 
Dominique Thomas, crossing the finish line in 7.60. She was followed by 
Katie Burns (7.76), 
Victoria Evtimov (7.79), and 
Isabel Roloff (7.79).
 
In the mile, 
Cailin Kinas cruised into the winner's circle, making it through the race in 5:04.57.
 
Following that up was 
Anelise Egge coming out on top in the 800m run, making it around in 2:15.51. 
Rachel Helm wasn't too far behind in second-place clocking in at 2:16.10.
 
Angelica Refinski rounded out the winners on the day for the Panthers, taking home the top spot blowing through the race in 25.99.

The Panthers will be back next weekend when they travel to South Bend, Ind. for Notre Dame's Meyo Invite on January 31
st and February 1
st.
