February 14, 2024

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee men's and women's track & field program is set to compete in their final weekend of competition before the Horizon League Indoor Track & Field Championships. Natalie Block will make the trip to Arkansas to compete in the 60m hurdles at the Arkansas Qualifier on Friday, and the Panthers will host their second home meet of the year, the Panther Tune-Up, on Saturday.

The lone Milwaukee track & field athlete on the road this weekend, Block will compete in the 60m hurdles at the 2024 Arkansas Qualifier. Preliminary heats are scheduled to start at 2:10 p.m. Friday afternoon, while the finals are scheduled for a 4:20 p.m. start.

The Panther Tune-Up will be held at the Klotsche Center, with a scheduled start time of 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning. Men's weight throw, women's long jump, men's high jump, and women's pole vault will begin at the start of the meet. Track events are scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. start, beginning with the women's 60m hurdle preliminary heats. Events will continue throughout the evening, capped by the men's 4x400m relay at 5:33 p.m.

Last Time Out

The Panthers' last competition came February 9th in Allendale, Michigan, where they competed at Grand Valley State University's Big Meet Friday. Four program records were broken by Panthers competing at the meet, while multiple others placed their names into the record books.

Block broke two of the four program records, both of which she already owned. The senior Panther lowered her program-best 60m hurdle time to 8.22 seconds and her program-best 400m dash time to 54.58 seconds. Block won the 60mH and took fourth in the 400m.

Anelise Egge set the new MKE women's mile record with a time of 4:52.35, winning the event. The previous mark had stood since 2011. Dominique Thomas ended the day as a record breaker as well, lowering her program-best time in the 200m dash to 24.27 seconds, earning third in the event. Both Egge and Thomas also sit in second in one other event each, Egge in the 800m, and Thomas in the 60m.

Kynnedi Malone, Leah Handshoe, Eileen Tocco, Golden Cotton, Dane Nelson, Aidan Sodemann, Isabel Roloff, and Nate Griepentrog all earned new or improved spots on various program top-ten lists.
