MILWAUKEE – On Friday, Head Coach
Kyle Rechlicz of the Milwaukee women's basketball program announced the signing of Vanessa Jurewicz to a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Panthers beginning with the 2023-24 basketball season.

Jurewicz makes her way to Milwaukee after competing for Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in 2020-21, before she became a member of the team at McCook Community College located in McCook, Nebraska for the past two seasons.

"Today we complete our team for next season with the signing of Vanessa," commented Rechlicz. "We couldn't be more thrilled to have her join our Panther Family as a transfer student-athlete. She is proven to be incredibly competitive and has similar goals to our coaching staff and team. She knows how to use her speed well and her ability to shoot will help stretch the defense. We can't wait to get her on campus this summer!"

In her first collegiate season, the Stockholm, Sweden-native played 14 games with a pair of starts at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. She scored 71 points while collecting 13 rebounds and added six steals and a block in 193 minutes.

Following her year at NEO, the 5-7 guard played two seasons as a starter at McCook, starting in 61 of her 62 appearances. She scored 919 points over her two years with the as the team went 31-31 during that span including a pair of appearances in the NJCAA Region IX Tournament.

With McCook she shot 38.6 percent from the field including 30.5 percent from beyond the arc. She had 196 rebounds including 111 this past season, while also adding 161 assists, 87 steals and 13 blocks during her two seasons in Nebraska.

Jurewicz rounds out Milwaukee's incoming class for 2023-24, as she will be joining newcomers
Jorey Buwalda, Payton Rechlicz,
Sophia Rampulla, and
Izzy Pugh.
