SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Senior
Trevor Wenzel finished in the top-10 with an eighth place overall finish for the Milwaukee men's cross country team on Friday afternoon at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invite.
The Panthers finished 10
th overall, scoring 220 points. Youngstown State (60) took the top spot, while UC Riverside (113) and Horizon League opponent IUPUI finished third with 123 points.
"I think it was a really solid day for the men today," said associate head coach
Jake Reilly. "I asked them to go out a lot harder than they're used to doing, and they stepped up."
Senior
Trevor Wenzel also recorded a new personal best in the men's 5 mile race with a time of 24:35.9.
Four other Panthers (five-of-six runners total), also set new personal bests at Notre Dame. Seniors

Freshman
Carter Eckhoff rounded out the scoring for Milwaukee crossing the line at 26:44.3, while
Nate Griepentrog tallied a 27:29.3 PR.
"Overall, it was a pretty good performance for our guys today," said head coach
Andrew Basler. "We aren't too deep on the men's side, but some of our guys ran a faster time than their 8k PR, so that's definitely positive."
Milwaukee will take off a week off from competition and will return to action Friday, October 14 at the Bradley Pink Classic in Peoria, Ill.
