MILWAUKEE – With 11 individual victories, the Milwaukee men's track and field team collected a win at the Tierney Classic on Saturday inside the Klotsche Center.
Milwaukee finished first at the meet with 251.50 points, finishing ahead of second place Marquette, who tallied 111.50. Bryant & Stratton placed third with 72 points.
"It was awesome to be able to have a home meet again with friends, family, and supporters of the program," head coach
Andrew Basler said. "We had a great showing of alumni and we were able to recognize 25 seniors that poured a lot into our program. It was special to be able to recognize them in front of their family and friends."
Trevor Wenzel collected a pair of wins in the distance events, winning both the 3000m run and the one mile. The senior raced to a time of 8:39.54 to win the 3000m and followed up with a time of 4:16.22 to win the one mile. Joshua Freitag (8:48.30) and

In the 60m hurdles,
Sam Conger recorded a new personal best, finishing first with a time of 8.01 seconds.
Austin Wallace also finished with a personal record in the event, racing to a time of 8.05 seconds to place second.
"I thought the men's hurdlers, Wallace and
Sam Conger, ran extremely well," said Basler. "Sam getting so close to breaking eight seconds which is pretty special and it is right around the corner for him to do that."
Golden Cotton also set a new personal best, finishing first in the 60m with a time of 6.88 seconds.
Caleb Anderson picked up a win in the 200m, racing to a time of 23.53 seconds.
In the field events, the Panthers recorded individual wins in five events, including a first-place finish from Wallace in the long jump. Wallace leaped to a mark of 7.52m, which tied his own Milwaukee school record.
"With Wallace we put a lot of focus into the long jump this week," Basler said. "We we're hoping he could get a long jump that would get him into indoor nationals, and I think he fouled one or two but he still matched his school record."
Obi Iwuagwu placed second in the long jump with a personal best 7.25m and finished first in the triple jump at 14.66m.
Evan Bartelsen and
Dylan Sieloff were the top two finishers in the pole vault with leaps of 4.50m while

The Panthers return to action next Saturday at the Red Hawk Invite hosted by Ripon College. Events are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
"Looking forward to heading to Ripon next week," Basler said. "We get to see some competition we normally don't see but they have a great 200m track so our hope is to continue to build upon what we've been doing these last three weeks."
