Peppler And Williams Ink NLI’s With Milwaukee WBB

Rechlicz adds pair to recruiting class

MILWAUKEE – Kamy Peppler of Hortonville, Wis., and Jada Williams of Mason City, Iowa, have signed National Letters of Intent to play for the Milwaukee women's basketball team, head coach Kyle Rechlicz officially announced today.

"This is the 10th class of student-athletes to have signed under my tenure at Milwaukee and I honestly can't think of a better pair of people to mark the occasion," Rechlicz said. "Kamy and Jada are outstanding athletes that will be significant contributors in the upcoming years. Both of them also come from incredible families where they have learned similar core values that represent our Panther Culture. We can't wait to get them here in Black and Gold."

Peppler is a senior at Hortonville High School and is coming off back-to-back seasons in which she was named a member of the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Division 2 All-State Team. She put together an impressive stat line as a junior, averaging 14.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 3.0 steals per game, also picking up Associated Press Honorable Mention All-State and FOX 11 All-Area Second-Team Accolades in the process. She connected on 42.4 percent of her three-point attempts (66-of-156), while finishing at 46 percent from the floor overall and 79 percent from the line, also earning a first-team all-defensive nod after back-to-back spots in the First-Team All-League in the Fox Valley Association. Peppler is also a National Honor Society member.

"Kamy is a dynamic point guard with the ability to score and pass," Rechlicz said. "She has a very high basketball IQ, which fits well with our offensive and defensive system. She has worked hard at becoming a great leader and we are excited about her competitive spirit. Kamy brings excitement to the floor that Panther fans will enjoy watching early in her career."

Williams is a senior at Mason City High School and was a unanimous selection to the All-CIML First Team after a season in which she averaged 14.8 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. A First-Team All-State selection by the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association, Williams also made the First-Team IBCA and First-Team Iowa Girls Coaches Association All-District squad after adding 4.5 assists and 2.3 steals per contest, shooting 40 percent from the floor and almost 70 percent from the free throw line. Williams is an Academic All-Conference honoree who picked up Second-Team All-CIML honors as a sophomore.

"Jada is a long guard who prides herself on getting stops and steals," Rechlicz said. "Players who love defense know how to win, and Jada is one of those players. She is also very quick on drives to the rim and will feel right at home in our transition-style offense. Jada has a very high ceiling that we are eager to help her reach once she is in a Milwaukee jersey."
