Milwaukee Again Recognized Among Nation's Best in the Classroom

July 21, 2026

ATLANTA – For the second consecutive season, the Milwaukee women's basketball team finished among the top 25 in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls, as announced on Tuesday.

During the 2025-26 academic year, the Panthers posted a team grade-point average of 3.699, ranking 18th among all NCAA Division I women's basketball programs. Last season, Milwaukee finished 20th with a 3.667 team GPA.

Milwaukee was one of four Horizon League programs to earn a spot in the top 25, joining Cleveland State, Green Bay, and Youngstown State. Detroit Mercy, Northern Kentucky, Purdue Fort Wayne, and Wright State all received special mention recognition outside the top 25.

"The WBCA is pleased to recognize those women's basketball programs that have committed themselves to excellence on the court and in the classroom," said WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew. "The 119 ranked teams we honor this year across all five collegiate membership divisions strive to achieve all-around success, and we commend their efforts. Congratulations!"

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes college women's basketball teams in each NCAA and collegiate division that compile the highest combined team GPAs, including all student-athletes on the roster throughout the season. To be recognized, a team must post a combined GPA of 3.0 or higher and be nominated for consideration. The 2025-26 season marks the 31st year the WBCA has compiled the Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls.
