MILWAUKEE, Wis. – For the first time in its NCAA Division I history, the Milwaukee women's basketball team is receiving votes in both national top-25 polls.
Milwaukee has climbed the College Insider Women's Mid-Major Top 25 poll all season, most recently checking in at No. 6, but following a sweep of Horizon League preseason favorite IUPUI, the Panthers have garnered recognition on an even larger stage.
The Panthers are receiving votes in the latest Associated Press poll as well as the USA Today/WBCA Coaches poll. Milwaukee currently checks in at 15-1 overall and leads the Horizon League with an undefeated record of 12-0. The 15 wins are the most in NCAA Division I.
The Panthers boast one of the best defenses in the nation, ranking eight in scoring defense (52.1 points per game), seventh in field goal percentage defense (32.7 percent), and 13th in three-point percentage defense (23.9 percent). Additionally, the Panthers are second in the nation in free throw percentage (84.0) and free throws made (258).
Milwaukee is riding a 12-game winning streak, matching a program record from the 2005-06 season, as it welcomes Northern Kentucky to the Klotsche Center for a weekend series. Live coverage links can be found on
