MILWAUKEE, Wis. –
Brandi Bisping of the Milwaukee women's basketball team was named the Horizon League Player of the Week after leading the Panthers to yet another weekend sweep.
The award marks Bisping's second of her career, the first coming last season on February 17.
In two Milwaukee victories, Bisping averaged an impressive 14.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists. The senior converted 64.3 percent of her shots from the floor and knocked down three of her four three-pointers. Bisping also finished 8-for-9 from the free throw line.
On Friday, Bisping totaled 14 points on 5-for-7 shooting and added seven rebounds and a pair of assists. She followed that with her second double-double of the year, recording 15 points and 12 rebounds in a 64-33 win over Purdue Fort Wayne.
Bisping currently ranks 34th in the nation with 45 free throws made. Her percentage of 90.0 ranks 42nd in NCAA Division I.
She was also named College Sports Madness High-Major Conference Player of the Week.
Bisping and the Panthers are off to an 11-1 overall start, the best in program history. Milwaukee leads the Horizon League at 8-0 and next welcomes Cleveland State to the Klotsche Center for a weekend series on January 15-16.
