CHICAGO – The Milwaukee men's swimming and diving team were unable to tame the UIC Flames in the dual meet on Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Flames Natatorium in Chicago, Ill.
UIC outscored Milwaukee 217-83, but the Panthers still lead the all-time series, 16-14-1.
The Panthers had many top performances on the day, including a pair of second-place finishes for the senior duo of
Jacob Fase and
Patrick Kelley.
Fase went 58.27 in the 100 breast and 2:08.82 in the 200 breast while Kelley swam the 100 fly in 51.43 and the 200 fly in 1:58.61.
Juniors Brandon NIemiec and
Colin Duffy followed suit to grab third-place finishes. Niemiec claimed third in the 100 breast in 59.18 while Duffy swam to third place in the 200 fly in 1:59.93.
The 200 medley relay of
Ben Huynh, Fase, Kelley, and
Bailey Bodart sprinted to snatch a second-place finish in 1:34.74.
The distance crew threw down two third-place finishes. Sophomore
Jack Garcia claimed third in the 1000 free with a time of 9:58.34 while
Dane Van Allen also finished third in the 500 free in 4:48.72.
Sophomore
Mason Schoof took home a third-place finish in the 200 IM in 1:57.49) while freshman
Ben Huynh also grabbed third in the 100 back with a time of 53.32.
Freshman
Jared Kleczka scored 293.18 for second place on the one-meter and 279.75 for third place on the three-meter.
The Panthers 200 free relay of
John Ruan,
Jasper Appleton,
Ryan Hakes, and Bodart ended the day with a third-place finish with a time of 1:26.64.

The Milwaukee diving team will see action next on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 23-24, at the IUPUI House of Champions Diving Invitational in Indianapolis, Ind.
