PATH TO PROMINENCE FOR MILWAUKEE ATHLETICS 

Overview

In the fall of 2018, efforts were dedicated to renewing and enhancing the Path to Prominence strategic plan that originated during the 2013-14 academic year. The Path to Prominence process continues to be an inclusive, broad-based, fluid and action-oriented plan. Through the process, every administrative support unit, sport program, staff member and coach had the ability to participate in and contribute to the planning. The process continues to be different from many traditional strategic planning processes.
 
Working groups were created to address each of the strategic goals that were outlined. The working groups are comprised of staff, coaches, and student-athletes from throughout the department. The working groups meet on a regular basis and provide progress updates to the department staff throughout the year.
 
In addition, each departmental support unit and sport program continues to outline an annual success plan. These plans are utilized to determine what investments are made in each unit or sport program on an annual basis.
 
As a result of this process, staff and coaches are engaged, action is taken, and the highest priorities are accomplished. This process allows our department to drive forward in an action-oriented, consistent manner that leads to a high level of excellence. Through the process, seven strategic goals were developed for the department.
