MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee track & field teams received three of the Horizon League Athlete of the Week awards, announced by the league office Tuesday.
Anna Szepieniec and
Ty Bauschelt were honored as the Runners of the week, while the Men's Field Athlete of the Week award went to
Kyril Griffin.
Szepieniec earned her third Runner of the Week honor and fifth weekly award of her junior season following a standout performance at the Iowa State Classic. She claimed the 200-meter dash title with a time of 24.69 and added a runner-up finish in the 60-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 8.45. Her hurdles time now ranks second on the all-time Panther indoor leaderboard and leads the Horizon League this season.
Bauschelt earns his first Runner of the Week accolade after competing at the Iowa State Classic. Bauschelt finished fourth in the 200-meter dash (22.08) and fourth in the high jump (1.98 meters).
Griffin receives his second Field Athlete of the Week honor after his triple jump performance at La Crosse's Mark Guthrie Legacy Invitational. He finished third in the event, clearing 14.06 meters.
