MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee swim & dive teams will host Stevens Point for Senior Day in the Klotsche Natatorium Friday, Jan. 30.
The series history against the Pointers has been one-sided, highlighted by the women's perfect 12-0 record. The men have also dominated the matchup at 10-1, with their lone loss coming in 1992.
LAST TIME IN THE POOL
The Panthers enter the meet fresh off conference victories over Green Bay, with the men earning a 176-103 win and the women securing a 212-84 victory.
The meet in the Klotsche Natatorium was highlighted by six pool records, all coming from the Milwaukee men.
Caleb Carlisle broke three facility records, winning the 100 Breaststroke (55.13) and the 100 Butterfly (48.07). His 25.39 leg of the 200 Medley Relay was also good for a Klotsche record.
Sam Lorenz continued the strong performances by setting two new facility records. He captured first place in the 200 Backstroke with a winning time of 1:49.75. Lorenz also anchored the 200 Medley Relay alongside
Andrew Jones, Carlisle, and
Charlie House, as the quartet took first with a time of 1:27.93. Lorenz's leadoff split of 21.57 established a new Klotsche Natatorium record.
Will Francis swept the diving events, receiving 269.10 points in the 1-meter Dive and 247.43 points in the 3-meter Dive.
The Panther women were led by
Gabrielle LePine, who secured 585 points for Milwaukee in its convincing victory. LePine touched the wall first in both the 100 Breaststroke (1:05.98) and 200 Breaststroke (2:26.56).
Christiana Brooks was another standout performer, being part of three winning efforts. In the 50 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle, she won the events with times of 24.20 and 54.28, respectively. Brooks, along with
Mara Freeman, LePine, and
Maddi Hayashi, were champions in the 200 Medley Relay with their 1:47.31 outing.
Kristina Wittmann is coming off back-to-back Horizon League Women's Diver of the Week honors after a solid performance in the Klotsche. Wittmann won both the 1-meter (264.53) and 3-meter dives (277.43) against the Phoenix.
