GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Milwaukee men's cross country team was back in action at the Phoenix Open hosted by Green Bay Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers finished sixth out of nine teams, scoring 152 points.
The men were led by
Sam Schreiber, who finished seventh at the event. Schreiber recorded a time of 25:40.6.
"The first time seeing the 8k distance is always an adjustment," head coach
Andrew Basler noted. "
Sam Schreiber ran a really solid effort. He is only going to continue to get stronger with each passing week."
The next Panther to cross the finish line was
Will Whiteis, who came in 24
th and clocked a time of 26:07.5. Whiteis improved on his time from last year's Phoenix Open, knocking off 29 seconds.
Aidan Sosnowski finished 36
th with a time of 26:38.7.
Alex Anewenter made his Panther debut, crossing the finish line 42
nd and recording a time of 27:06.1.
"As the men move through the season, they will need to continue to challenge themselves to run with confidence and compete amidst uncomfortableness," Basler concluded.
