MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee cross country teams will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 20 as they travel to Fort Wayne, Ind., for the Rumble at the Fort Invitational hosted by Purdue Fort Wayne. The women will race the 6k at 10:00 a.m., followed by the men's 8k at 10:45 a.m. The event will be held at Mastodon Cross Country Course.
LAST TIME OUT
At the Phoenix Open in Green Bay, Wis., on Sept. 6, the Panther men finished sixth out of nine teams scoring 152 points. The women secured a fifth-place finish among the nine competing teams, tallying 115 points. This race marked the women's first 6k and the men's first 8k event of the season.
KEY CONTRIBUTORS
Anelise Egge had an impressive showing at the Phoenix Open, taking home the individual crown. Egge clocked a time of 21:39.7, finishing more than 10 seconds ahead of the next closest competitor. This was Egge's second time capturing the Phoenix Open title, crossing the finish line first in her junior season in 2024. The victory at this year's event marked Egge's fourth first-place finish in her Milwaukee career, including a win at the Horizon League Championships a season ago. Egge will look to continue her dominance this weekend when running for the Black and Gold.
Janiyah Taylor has proven to be a rising talent in her first two races for Milwaukee. The freshman from Kenosha, Wis., recorded a 14
th-place finish at the Phoenix Open with a time of 22:54.5, being the second Panther to cross the finish line.
Rachel Helm, an All-League Second Team honoree last season, crossed the finish line in 32
nd place on Sept. 6 with a time of 23:15.2.
Anna Gallagher also recorded a top-40 finish for Milwaukee, taking 33
rd in the event.
Sam Schreiber had a breakout performance for the Black and Gold at the Phoenix Open, finishing the event in 7
th place. Schreiber logged an 8k time of 25:40.6.

Will Whiteis, who has had two strong showings to start his sophomore season. Whiteis saw tremendous improvement from his performance at the Phoenix Open compared to a year ago, knocking off 29 seconds from last season's time.
Cullen Boyle has shown sparks of dominance this season, finishing in 4
th place at the team's first race of the season, the Tom Barry Invitational.
UP NEXT
The Panthers will get a week off before participating in the Joe Paine Invitational. Milwaukee will travel to South Bend, Ind., for the event hosted by Notre Dame on Oct. 3 at 10:30 a.m.
