Panthers Earn Top-Three Finish at Tom Barry Invitational

August 30, 2025

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Milwaukee Panthers women's cross country team opened its season at the Tom Barry Invitational on Saturday morning.

The women finished third out of 11 teams in the 5k event, recording 71 points. The Panthers saw five runners finish within the top 20.

Anelise Egge was the top performer for Milwaukee, finishing ninth with a time of 19:23.4.

Anna Gallagher finished thirteenth for the Panthers with a time of 19:39.4. Close behind her were Janiyah Taylor and Rachel Helm, who recorded times of 19:40.1 and 19:48.0, respectively.

Rounding out the Panther top 20 finishers was Ally Schmitz recording a time of 20:05.2, taking off nearly 20 seconds from the same event a season ago.

"It was exciting to get our 2025-26 campaign started today," head coach Andrew Basler stated. "Coach Schultz had a very specific race plan for both the men and women, and I thought they executed that plan."

Basler concluded by saying, "comparison can be the thief of joy but looking at where the group was last season at this meet, we are collectively in a better spot."

The Panthers will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 6 when they return to Green Bay for the Phoenix Open.
