MILWAUKEE – On Wednesday, Milwaukee announced its 2025 men's and women's cross country schedules, as revealed by head coach
Andrew Basler.
Â
The schedule features nine events from late August through late November and includes trips to four different states, culminating with the Horizon League Championships, the NCAA Great Lakes Regional, and the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships in November.
Â
The season will begin on Aug. 30, when the team competes in the Tom Barry Invitational, hosted by St. Norbert at the Shorewood Cross Country Course. The event will serve as a tune-up for the season, featuring a 5K for the women and a 6K for the men.
Â
The Panthers return to Green Bay the following weekend on Sept. 6 for the Phoenix Open, hosted by Green Bay. The races at the Shorewood Course will be extended, with a 6K for the women and an 8K the men.
Â
After a weekend off, the Panthers will head to Fort Wayne, Ind. for the Rumble in the Fort, hosted by Purdue Fort Wayne on the Mastodon Cross Country Course on Sept. 20. The meet will allow Milwaukee to familiarize itself with the course that will later host Horizon League Championships.
Â
October begins with a split weekend of action. On Oct. 3, some runners will travel to the Joe Piane Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame, while the remainder of the team will compete locally at the Wisconsin Lutheran Warrior Invitational at Greenfield Park in West Allis, Wis. on Oct. 4.
Â
The Bradley Pink Classic on Oct. 17 will serve as the final tune-up before championship season as the Panthers travel to Peoria, Ill., to race at the Newman Golf Course.
Â
Milwaukee returns to Fort Wayne, Ind. on Nov. 1 for the Horizon League Championships. The women's team will look to improve upon last season's fifth-place finish, while the men's team aims to build on its ninth-place result.
Â
The NCAA Great Lakes Regional will be hosted by the University of Evansville on Nov. 14, and the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championship will take place on Nov. 22, hosted by the University of Missouri at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Mo.
